What can you buy for 4$? Perhaps a nice pair of socks, or what about a good cup of coffee and a cake? Alternatively, back in 2006, you could have walked into your local Burger King and picked yourself up a brand new copy of Sneak King, the worlds creepiest video game.

I have to admit, it took some doing to get this game up and running. See, this title was only released in North America. Once I had eventually managed to hook up my NTSC 360 through a cunning use of ‘smacking the crap out of it’ and convincing my TV that the signals it was receiving were not transmissions being intercepted from Venus, I sat back and decided to see what Mr Creepypants could do.

This is not going to end well for her.

The premise is simple enough. You play the King, the creepy mask wearing royal mascot of Burger King. Playing on one of the four maps, your goal is to sneak around and deliver burgers to random people before they pass out from starvation. However, for some unknown reason, you have to avoid being seen by anyone.

I have no idea why, but the only reason I can think of is that you the tasty burgers you are forcing down peoples necks are laced with some kind of pathogen and the King is actually a biological terriorst. At least that’s the storyline I came up with. If you are spotted, your target no longer becomes interested in your tasty treat and likely returns home to call the authorities about the strange man offering burgers to strangers.

Mmmm. Fresh.

Gameplay is rudimentary and the graphics are patchy. The King himself minces around the areas like some kind of sinister child catcher – and worst of all, there are only 200 Achievement points to snag. However, the game is surprisingly fun and if you had only paid four bucks for it it would be hard to be dissapointed.

This was not the only game Burger King released, two others were also up for grabs, called Pocketbike and Big Bumpin, both for the same $4 price tag and racer style titles, however neither of them reached the same kind of notoriety that Sneak King did. I wonder why.

Here’s a fun fact. Sneak King was developed by Blitz Games who are the development team currently working on Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two! From creepy, sinister king character to creepy, sinister mouse in the space of six years. They’re also the devs behind the Biggest Loser titles as well as Yoostar 2.

Here in the EU Sneak King is pretty damn rare, and for that reason alone, if you can pick it up cheap it’s definitely one to check out. Just remember that you will need an American Xbox 360 to play it on. How this game ever got an ‘E’ rating is beyond me.
