A website for a sequel to Tecmo Koei’s beat ‘em up, Fist Of The North Star, has gone live and includes details and sixteen blood-soaked screenshots of what gamers can expect.
The original title, Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage, was released in 2010 and was based on a manga featuring fists and angry people. The game sold around half a million copies in Japan alone before receiving a global release on Xbox 360 and PS3.
The new game looks to be a lot more violent, with blood literally everywhere. Across sixteen screen shots we see someone kicking around 20 enemies, all of them gushing with blood, a kick decapitation with the enemy having a fountain of blood spraying high, and someone drop kicking the enemies, with blood pouring out. My point is, there’s an absolute fuck load of blood.
The launch site states a release date of December 2012 however it’s all in Japanese, so it’s likely that we won’t see this outside of Japan for a good while. Gematsu also noticed a product site dedicated to the game. Which is also in Japanese!
It tells us that “Legend” has become the main mode, and they have reorganized the story, allowing players to view it from multiple playable characters view including Shu and Juza, who were NPCs in the last game and are now playable. The site also states that you can switch at any time, and promises that you will be able to replicate boss fight scenes from the original manga.
In addition, the developers have added loads of new moves to allow players a new feeling in the game, as well as new finisher attacks. They also mention DLC briefly which is likely to be different costumes as well as new scenarios/levels.
Impressed that I know Japanese? No? That’s because you know I used Google translate.
Fist Of The North Star 2 is expected to be released December 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
