One brave Pandora explorer has discovered a secret shout out to Mojang’s Minecraft with a hidden level easter egg in Borderlands 2.
The images posted on Reddit show a hidden section filled with Minecraft style blocks and the games terrifying enemies, the Creepers. The founder of the secret area has cropped the images to hide the location of the level but has informed fellow explorers that you will find Minecraft blocks nearby which will spew out goodies when smashed.
The Minecraft helmet, seen in the third image, is said to have been accidentally revealed at the Gearbox Panel at PAX this year. As Gearbox were scrolling through different helmets for Zero, they revealed the “Mine But Not Yours” helmet, resulting in a mass freak out and Randy Pitchford yelling “TURN IT! TURN IT!” He then asked all at the panel not to say anything about it.
What other shout-out easter eggs has Borderlands 2 got to offer? I guess we’ll have to wait and see, unless more images appear from the already pirated Xbox 360 copy of the Gearbox sequel.
Borderlands 2 is scheduled for release on September 21st for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
