People Can Fly released Painkiller in 2004 – a game where you can shoot shurikens and lightning, as Yahtzee so elegantly put it in his review. That title, along with it’s sequel Battle out of Hell, is receiving a HD upgrade and re-release this Halloween on PC and Mac under the guise of Painkiller: Hell and Damnation.
The game – available physically or on Steam – will have a collectors edition which comes with an art book, making of footage, soundtrack, exclusive skin DLC for the digital version and the addition of postcards and stickers for the physical version. The regular version will be priced at £18 on Steam and the Collectors Edition at £25.99.
Hell and Damnation was originally announced for the PC, 360 and PS3 but console platforms were not mentioned in this release announcement, so if they’re still coming is unknown. Either way, none of the versions will be available in Germany where the original was ‘deemed to evil’ and censored refused it a classification.
Hell and Damnation is available on October 31st for PC and Mac.
